What is Del Alma?

Hey, I’m Nico – the creator of Del Alma. 

Before we get started, thank you for visiting our site and taking the time to read about our story, as this project means the world to us. 

Now, to get into the story of this clothing line, we can take a look back to when I was a little boy.

The name of my brand itself holds a special place in my heart. Ever since I was a young boy, my mother would always say the phrase "te quiero con toda mi alma", translating to "I love you with all my soul". This one line is something which has stuck with me growing up, and seeing the way she would not only say this but also act on it, is where this name derives from.

So why does this even matter, is it just the name of the brand? The answer to that is no, as it is deeper than just a name. Whenever I, or the people around me have aspired to do something, I have always said what is most important is to give it everything you have. As with this clothing brand, it has taken a very long amount of time and effort (and a deep dive into my savings as well), but all of this effort was worth it, as I can assure myself that my all went into it.

I had many dreams as I aged through my teenage years, like being a professional athlete, being a famous content creator, and also creating art that was seen thorughout the world. One thing that all of these have in common is bringing happiness to people in different forms.

However, life hits you like a truck, and most of the time this means young people giving up on their dreams and learning to be satisfied and accept what their life is at that very moment. I stopped playing sports seriously, stopped creating content and live streaming, and stopped drawing on my spare time. Instead, all of my time went into my school program in university, and jobs I got here and there.

The realization hit me, and this was when I noticed that I was not where I wanted to be in life. Even through the happiness I had experienced, what bothered me most was the sense that I was becoming complacent. I had let go of some dreams, but that didn't mean that all was lost. I decided it was time to change my life, after many months of researching different ideas, this company is what called to me. This clothing brand combines my ability to create content through advertising, the desire to create art, and most vitally the power to bring joy to others, in this case through fashion.

Honestly, its not too hard to fall into this hole. You get caught up in life as a whole, and people telling what you can and can't be, and it hurts especially when it comes from someone close to you. Surrounding yourself with people who support your dreams and push you to break the cycle of your life to inspire change within you is very important.

Even through failure, I learned many things, and one of the lessons I hold closest to my soul is that without any risk, you won't experience any change. I truly hope for this brand to succeed, and this about me section to inspire others to go out and take the risk to go get what they want no matter the outcome.

At the end of the day, this clothing brand is a compilation of all of my dreams and my most important memories coming to life. The goal is to make people happy through fashion, light up the lives of my friends and family, and reignite a spark within me that was dimming. Bringing joy and assisting those who need it warms my soul and is what truly makes me happy. I desire that although my dream starts out small, that one day I can grow it to reach so many more people than just my immediate circle.

One day, I want to be able to express that love I felt from my mother saying those words to me to an amount of people I could never dream of reaching at this current moment. One day, I want Del Alma to fund dreams around the world just like mine. One day, I want people to see Del Alma while walking through the heart of Toronto, or maybe even Times Square.

I know very well that as the years pass, you may feel like it is time to let go of your dreams and change your outlook on life, but I would say don't. ALWAYS give everything you've got even when you have nothing left, and push through adversity like an unstoppable force. Take any setbacks as a means to try even harder next time, face all hardships head on, and slam them right back into the ground.

Basically what I'm saying is you're never too old to chase your dreams. It is okay to be shy, scared, worried, or stressed, and its okay to get pushed back by many different situations, but push through these feelings and go get what it is you've always wanted.

Del Alma is my first real attempt at my very own business, and this about us page hopefully gives you a deeper understanding into why it is even a brand to begin with.
